I am counting my days, by the end of November, I will be out of this place back to headquarter. Been here for almost six months and started to get into its work flow (in a good and bad way). So, I think this place deserves to have a tribute post. In the early days, I was so surprised with its bureaucratic yet demanding people. Unreliable cleaning service (we havent got our gallon change since last month), a celebrity wannabe, but great internet access and computers. I also started blogging here. For a rookie like me, this has been an eye-opener. I got my first "F" word from a native speaker here, saw the high-level officials in real life size, and met a lot of pushy journalists. Plus Daydreamer encountered with some spooky harassing people (Hehe ..) Here is what Daydreamer said about this place: Me and Amien Rais.Aside from Megawati Soekarnoputri, Akbar Tandjung, Hari Sabarno and all of those high-level officials that coming to my clients office this morning to celebrate its b-day, theres this 60 year old man, Amien Rais. Well, blame me for being one of those college students in 98-99 who joined the rest of the crowd to over throne Soeharto, I still had this admiration towards him for his part back then--so well...walopun banyak yang bilang dia big mouth, mencla mencle and what have yous--tapi karena tadi kita berada di acara yang sama--so I decided to take a pic with him! wuahahaha. [ntar kalo gw dah bisa upload foto, mo gw upload disini hiehie]
(August 19, 2004) Actually, I didnt even want to start talking about terror. Or terrorism. First, cos I had enough of it since last week (look, i got out from clients office at 6.30 AM on saturday--not even had any chance to sleep.yes, been up all nite till the break of dawn.gimme a friggin break.) but, then i realize the news coverage about the verdict has been all over the world. and now i am being kinda proud of being part of the terror. playin a tiny role in providing, disseminating and clarifying information regarding the verdict that has been controversial by far.Hell, I even got misquoted by AFP (which is actually NOT a good part, cos first I cant believe he quoted me without asking MY permission--hello? ethic? journalism code of conduct?, second he got me all wrong and didnt even bother to re-check with me. and i thought those pribumis who work in foreign media/newswires were smarter.)(July 26, 2004) One more thing, as of December, I must leave my habit waking up at 06.30, and head to work at 07.30. Waaaaah ..
